Came here for dinner after a Broadway show and was a great way to cap off the night. We got there a little early and so they sat us at the bar while we waited for our table to be ready and we ordered some margaritas to start things off. I had the tamarind and my girlfriend had the strawberry, both delicious and you can tell that they use real strawberries too, not just some mix, was the freshest I've ever tasted! Once we were sat, we started with chips and guac, and they give you more than enough fresh chips to snack on. For dinner my date had chicken and steak tacos and I went for the beef short rib quesadilla with a side of sweet plantains. All of it was fresh and delicious and left you feeling satisfied without feeling too full. Service was great, both at the bar and at the table, and even just waiting for our table, they definitely made sure we were taken care of at all steps. Its a little expensive, but for the quality you get and being in midtown Manhattan, you can do a whole lot worse. Would be happy to come back to this place for some upscale Mexican fare and cocktails anytime.

Toloache 50 is an amazing in the heart of New York! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and lively ambiance that sets the tone for an incredible dining experience. The decor is vibrant and inviting, perfectly complementing the authentic Mexican flavors. The menu is a masterpiece, offering a variety of dishes that cater to both traditional and adventurous palates. The guacamole trio is a must-try - fresh, flavorful, and the perfect start to the meal. For mains, I highly recommend the tacos (the braised short rib and mahi-mahi were standout choices) and the mole dishes, which are rich and expertly crafted. Don't skip the margaritas - they're some of the best in the city, with creative flavors and just the right balance. Service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. Even during a busy evening, the staff ensured we felt taken care of. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for an amazing meal, Toloache 50 delivers. I can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu. Highly recommend!

Food is excellent. It's always crowded. Food comes out fresh. Drinks are strong. Small place and cute ambience. Gotta order the guac and chips. All the tacos are delicious. Great for group events, date night , and solo date. I love the red sauce that came with the guac and chips.

This place is deceivingly large!! The restaurant was decorated so nicely for the holidays. Everything was delicious. We ordered traditional guac for the table and I had the suadero tacos which were AMAZING- a must get. The shrimp tacos were also really delicious as well! This is the type of place you want to try everything on the menu. Service was great as well, we never went without water or had to flag a waiter because he was so attentive.

Came for lunch and it was really good. A huge fan of the short rib tacos, they literally melted in your mouth. Unfortunately there's only 2 but they did come with a side of rice and beans. The birria tacos were also very flavorful. The guac was good and fresh. However, you must made room for the churros. They were so yummy especially with the chocolate and caramel sauce.

Very good food with authentic Mexican options on the menu. The restaurant is quite loud but the ambiance is romantic and dark. The waiters speak Spanish and are helpful when you express dietary restrictions.

What a lovely evening from start to finish. Jorge addressed us at the host stand. There was a window seat. He was going to take us upstairs, but we asked for the pulse of the city seat and he said that is fine. He will get it ready for us. We said we will be waiting at the bar. The bar had wonderful service. We all ordered spicy margaritas times three and how delicious! Jorge then came by and sat us at our beautiful window seat. Scarlet was our server. She was sweet, kind, explained the menu. I am from San Diego and knew a lot of Mexican dishes. I ordered for the table based on preferences, one vegetarian. OMG, what wonderful items. So fulfilling. So tasty. Hit the spot. Ordered some more margaritas. Had a corona. They forgot to put the lime, but that is OK.Had flan as well as churros and how delicious. Churros served with delicious dark chocolate sauce, and a caramel sauce. Overall service quite on par. Very friendly. Great atmosphere. I speak Spanish and that was always fun to practice. Jorge and his team were wonderful and we will definitely be back as we are frequent flyers to NYC! (We are here for wine spectator)!!

Had a wonderful experience at this restaurant with my mom. We stopped in prior to a Broadway show. We started the evening with guacamole and chips. It was extremely fresh and so delicious! We ordered two drinks. My mom had sangria and I had a blueberry margarita. Both amazing!! I had shrimp tacos as my meal and my mom had a chicken quesadilla. She thoroughly enjoyed her dish and I loved mine. Down side to this restaurant is the portions are small. I had to order another set of tacos to feel full. But the food was phenomenal! The place is spacious and decorated beautifully. We had reservations which I highly recommend.
